Just wondering why LSU is now going after all these 3* players

Alot of the three stars you see now will be reevaluated by the different services during the spring and summer and will get bumped from three to 4 and 5 stars

Yes the rankings are old. Plus, there's a lot of physical development that happens for a H.S. Junior to their Senior season.

We aren't. The difference is we are offering a lot more players earlier on now and as one poster mentioned, these guys will all be reevaluated many times before signing day...when that happens most will be 4 stars

as long as they have 5* hearts! Never let the opportunity to drop a Butchism go by.
Looking at the bios on some of these 3* guys I expect them to upgrade. 3* RB we offered has offers to Bama, UF, OM, and Tenn for example...

When the Patriots and Seahawks played the 2015 SB, not one starter on either side of the ball on either team had been rated higher than 3* out of high school. Players develop. Coaches don't care what they are right now. They care about what they can be in two or three years.

Generally agree outside of donta Hightower he was 4 stars

Some may get reevaluated and it seems to be a down year in state besides WR.

He has said as much, and that a main part of his recruiting strategy is seeing the potential before anyone else does, and being first to offer.
Yeah, many of those players will remain 3* ranked... but quite a few will undoubtedly jump to 4* and one or two will become a 5*. Not that rankings matter, but it is what it is.
