I think he just did not expect Watson and Duplantis back, meaning Cabell. Maybe he did not want to fight for a job, similar to Doolittle last year.

Not being retarded I genuinely thought he was going the way of the draft. There was obviously a falling out with Maineri of some sort if he is not indeed going the way of the draft. This also hurts with Turang.

Both were drafted by the Brewers. Cabell was projected to go in the top 3 rounds of the draft. He is a guy who I thought might be able to sign for over his slot with the Brewers.

He was drafted outside of the top 10 rounds so he doesn’t have a slot.
I don’t think he will ever make it to campus. He is still looking at going juco.

I imagine he'll end up at JUCO and if not then the kid is raw and he's not exactly showing the type of mindset that develops right now.

Why is it automatically thought that Mainieri told the kid to kick rocks? The kid could have talked to Mainieri or Cain and told them he doesn’t want to sit the bench, so they let him free to go elsewhere.

If i had to guess, they sold Cabell on Watson and\or Duplantis leaving...and when they slipped in the draft and looking to return to school, he wanted out
