So was this year supposed to be the best recruiting class or next? Just kidding. All I know is LSU will continue to be a powerhouse for years to come.

The Illini must hate LSU

Just looking at Tom Luginbill's early 2015 Top 10 on ESPN, he has Toliver #1 overall, Brosette #5, and Beckner #7, so LSU is looking strong by Luginbill's estimation.

They're from Chicago, he's from St Louis. Not the same thing.

I know where East St Louis is. I'm just across the fricking river from it. It's in the St Louis metro area. He's a St Louis metro kid. Not a Chicago kid, which is 5 and a half of the most boring hours away at the very least.

Luginbill prefaces his Top 10 with certain criteria (such as College-impact-ready talent) as to why his Top 10 differs from ESPNs top 300.
1. CB Kevin Toliver II -LSU Commit
Analysis: Tall cornerbacks aren't standing on every street corner. This is becoming one of the most highly sought-after positions. Toliver possesses college-ready talent, has a refined skill set and is ahead of the curve mentally in terms of understanding the nuances of coverage. He looks like a long rangy safety but moves like a smaller cover corner. LSU is in need of perimeter talent and depth.
2. DE Jashon Cornell-Undeclared
3. DT Trenton Thompson-Undeclared
4. RB Damien Harris-Undeclared
5. RB Nick Brossette -LSU commit
Analysis: Need, need, need. LSU could find itself in the fall of 2015 with RB Leonard Fournette and a big gap behind him -- which is where Brossette comes into play. He is similar to former LSU tailback Mike Ford and would add more power and explosiveness to an offense that will likely be relying heavily on Fournette in 2014 and needs much more depth. LSU is thin here but also very talented. Sometimes impact is due to need, not just talent.
6. QB Ricky Town -USC commit
7. DE Terry Beckner Jr. -Undeclared
Analysis: A value position off the edge with better run-stopping ability at this stage than Jashon Cornell, Beckner is reminiscent of DE Da'Shawn Hand in the sense of being able to anchor as a 5-technique or widen out and pressure off the edge, converting speed to power. Would be an end in a 4-3 and a 5-technique in a 3-4.
8. DE Shameik Blackshear -South Carolina commit
9. DE Mekhi Brown -Alabama commit
10. QB Blake Barnett -Notre Dame commit
