Polaris or Dolphin. Hard to go wrong with either.

My in-laws hated their Polaris so they bought a Dolphin. So when we had our pool built last winter, we bought a Dolphin DX4. We’ve only been using it since around March but so far, so good. We’ve been very happy with it.

I have a Dolphin Nautilus. No complaints but I haven't had a Polaris in years to compare it to fairly. It's worked well for me. I did get some "ultra fine" particle filters to use it it - it came with a more traditional looking filter. Reviews said the fine particle filters picked up more stuff so I went with that. I occasionally swap back and forth.

I have a dolphin DX3. It does really good. I jumped in with my sunglasses in after drinking all day in the pool a couple of weeks ago and didn't go down to get them. The dolphin picked them up for me next time I vacuumed.

Purchasing one of these has been a game changer. I will NEVER own a pump operated cleaner, again.

Not wanting to hijack your thread, but to the Nautilus owners, how frequently do you take your cleaner out of the pool, not including emptying the baskets? We run ours daily so it spends a majority of the time in the water. We only take it out if we're away from the house for a few days.

I’m encouraged by these responses. I just ordered the Dolphin Nautilus CC yesterday and hoping it works better than the old Polaris I have. It’s just not cutting it anymore.

What do you like about the CC plus versus other Dolphins. It appears this one is 60 feet cord compared to 50 feet so I like that part

this is the only one I've ever owned but here's what i like:

- two baskets. It holds a ton of crap
- has no problem surfacing and running along the waterline
- easy to take apart if a tread gets off track without having to pay to have it serviced

Cons:
- tread occasionally comes off track
- occasionally turns into a beached turtle when passing over the drain and I have to pull it off.

I've always left mine in the pool, but it seems it's not good for the power cord. Mine is starting to become chalky and rubs off on my hand.

I used to always roll mine up, but I left it in the pool for several weeks and the cord tangled to all hell. I laid it out on the deck for a bit to straighten it and it helped a little, but it’s still a mess. That’s my one and only complaint about my Dolphin.

yep mine too. I know I shouldn't do it but im too lazy to coil the cord up. that is my only complaint. the dang cord has to be perfectly coiled to stay on the caddy

It costs more, but it’s worth it.
