These things are worth every penny. I have one made by dolphin and the motor keeps going out. I've got a few months left on the warranty so I'm looking out for deals b/c I will need to replace mine before the warranty expires as it will eventually break. Except it won't be a free repair, it would cost $500 after the warranty

one of my treads has come off/gotten jammed twice and its not the most intuitive thing to take apart but its definitely user-serviceable when the time comes so i'll DIY unless its something like the controller dying.

great product.

What model do you have? Who offers it at the best price?

i need to look that thread up from last year on here where folks were discussing it.

hit troublefreepool up; they have all the models/generic models identified and mapped as well as who currently has the best deal. there is like one manufacturer but several 'brands' of the product which are basically different color schemes and model #s.

I have kids in the thing around the clock, shitloads of em, and havent shocked once this year.

Took a while to get my stabilizer correct, once so, had to turn my generator way down Variable speed pump runs 14 hours a day and set at 50%.

Glad I went with salt water. My pool is basically maintenance free. I've added one bag of salt since October. Almost time to add another. No issues with anything around my pool rusting or plants dying.

I wish I had added more holes for umbrellas before the pool deck was poured. I went with two, and really should have gone with a couple more.

We have a nice sized bench at one end of the pool, and love it. Consider something like that for when you want to sit in the pool and have drinks.

Also, some sort of water feature makes the pool nice to look at even when it's too cold to swim. I enjoy sitting on my patio in the winter with the waterfalls in the pool flowing. It's peaceful to listen to and nice to look at.

All of these people recommending Salt are crazy. Its corrosive. It's especially awful for heaters.

We did a UV system with a chlorinator and its easy as could be. Minimal chlorine used and UV kills all the germs. Ours is similar in size. Plus about 8 ft for tanning ledge. 9 ft in deep end and a separate spa. We have a gas heater (pentair) and a chiller. Chiller is glacier brand and runs on electricty. We used pentair for everything except chiller. The chiller is sized up to 30k gallons and it works well. Its kinda noisy though just fyi. Consider that when placing equipment and its HUGE. Make sure your equipment pad can handle it. We did fully automated valves and can run everything from an app. Though most of it is on timers. Variable pentair pumps x 2. LEDs x 5. One thing I spent a little on that I don't particularly find worth it was ledge loungers. They move too much and the robot can't clean in the shallow tanning ledge around them. They're hard to get in and out of. The robot we have is awesome. It even scrubs the waterline tile. It's electric and husband was aggravated to have a cord running across deck to outlet, but it does such a good job. Its a pentair prowler. After running it a couple times he got over the cord. We added tons of concrete around which by the time they form and pour is not significantly expensive and well worth it to us. No diving boards and no slides. Not much I wish we had done different. Was VERY expensive, but I'm not doing it again and I wasn't trying to scrimp just to be able to afford it all together. Also we put several umbrella holders all over our tanning ledge for different configurations and we really like that. We get a ton of sun and like to move the umbrellas all over as it moves. Did not add anything to cost.

Any pictures of your setup. We’ll be doing a pool at the house we’re building and I’m trying to figure out how much decking I want. We’ll have a 15 x 35 which includes the tanning ledge.

Don’t put any trees right next to it especially Palms or if you do make sure of anticipated future size and shedding a.
Source: has palm trees next to pool cleaning palm shite out on almost a daily basis. The deluge of the flowers which look like mosquitoes, the seeds, the leaves…maddening I tell you. But they do look cool.

Had a pool with the pop up heads. They didn't accomplish crap and constantly broke. Went through three salts cells in 7 years. Totally not worth it. If I did another pool I'd go with a simple fiberglass with a liner and chlorine. For sure put in a chiller.

I’m curious as to why you’d put a liner in a fiberglass pool.

You think chlorine is any better? Assuming it’s an inline chlorinator, that concentrated chlorine is just as “awful for the heaters”. Most heaters are cupronickel, so they’re pretty impervious to the 3000 ppm salt levels used in a pool. Otherwise, I agree the salt water tends to be more corrosive when it gets on furniture, etc.

Have the tanning ledge off to the side. Don’t let it take from the length of your pool. Adding it to the side has minimal cost that’s worth it

That’s what I did and wouldn’t do it any other way.

My pool is 34x16 with a 8x16 sun deck and 7x9 spa, 2 fire bowls, deck jets, led bubblers, led lights, heater/chiller and fully automated. I’ve got 3 benches and 6 umbrella holders with 2 sets of Stairs so I can get out of the pool on either side.

My only suggestion is go for the smaller pool. Kids will enjoy it just the same. We have a larger one, but wish it were smaller. That and get a sup pump.

make sure the builder installs aerators. when the water gets hot run the pump with the aerators on at night to cool the water. hell of a lot cheaper than a chiller.

The website says it does not clean the waterline. In your experience, does it do a decent job at that? What about steps?
