Seasoned Firewood Delivered

I'll have some oak this coming week. It's been seasoned a little over 4 months. If that's good with you, I'll be glad to deliver you some.

Just don’t use The Firewood Guys unless you want “seasoned” wood that’s been left out in the rain and delivered literally dripping wet. frick those guys. I paid $175 for a half cord of seasoned wood three years ago and when it was delivered, it was literally dripping wet. They had the nerve to deny that it was wet when I complained. They came out and replaced it the next day with slightly less wet wood.

frick them. Lesson learned.

Basically anything you buy mid-winter is going to be wet. After the first cold snap the good stuff is long gone. Buy your firewood in August, before any major hurricanes. Hard to think about when its 100 degrees outside, but thats when you can have your pick of last winters splitting.

Back when I did it, I quit selling when I was out of 1 year old wood. Had basically 100% repeat customers, but didn't make nearly the money that the "sell whatever whenever" guys did.

You definitely should not have accepted that delivery. Don't even let them unload it.

Always assume that anybody advertising dry wood in December is lying.

I might get back into it this spring. Good beer money. Shitload of back busting work though.

I was actually at work when they delivered it and watched them on my cameras. I thought it looked pretty wet so I went home for lunch to check. I called and made a big enough stink over it that they were kind enough to come the next day to replace it with wood that was slightly less wet

Never again will I use them!

You should. I’ve used you before in the past and you’d be my first choice again. Honest, reliable and good firewood.

I recommend 100% Wood. They are in central, you can search them on Google.

That's part of the fun!

I've got about 1.5 cords of storage and use about 0.5 cords a year.
So, every other spring, I go cut and split a cord to top back off to 1.5 total and let the new wood season.
If I did anymore than that (or wanted to sell), I'd get a machine.

Lots of money to be made in that first cold snap if you have the place to store it to sell in the future.
