How much does a new roof cost in the Baton Rouge area on a 2000 sqft single story home?

2300 sq ft house in Baton Rouge, paid 12k in January.
That was with new flashing where the roof lines hit the second floor of the house. Shingles prices are about to go up another 15% if they haven't already.

i just had a metal roof done, it was $10k for roughly 1000 sq feet so $20k sounds about right

its going to be half that if you go with shingles

I’ve used Top Team Roofing for both my houses. To be fair on my most recent house, it was pretty straight forward…no crazy angles or high pitches. But they definitely fixed where I had water intrusion from the second floor with the flashing.

A 2k sqft house can vary a lot in the number of squares needed. You have the shape from a simple hip to hip or gable to gable to a house with multiple gables etc. Then the pitch of the roof makes a big difference, a lot more shingles are needed for a 12-on-12 vs a 4-on-12.

So the answer is it depends, even if you have a per square price for a specific shingle.

Did my 2000 with large carport in 2020 for $15k, so I’d guess 20 now.

No sense in doing it now. Wait until storm season passes and the mid-terms are done. You may get lucky with hail/ wind damage for your home owners policy coupled with a complete 180 of American politics that works in your favor.

Like others have posted could be 10-20k depending on type of roof. Call around and you won't have a problem getting quotes.
