Looking to find a reasonable residential architect to draw up a "master plan" for my future ideas for adding on to house.

TIA

Edit: In Baton Rouge

100% not an architect, draftsman, or really anything construction related, but I drew up plans for my home addition that we are using. I still have access to the software for a few more weeks and trying to see if I like it enough to take on a side hustle. It'll save you about $3,500 and 3 months wait time and should at least get you a good starting point to take to a professional. Shoot me an email if interested: drunkencrawfishtd@gmail.com

Here is about the best I can do

It would be helpful if you gave a location. If you're in Baton Rouge, Lioinel Bailey is very good. He's not particularly cheap, but very good.

My recommendation depends on your definition?

They didn't teach you how to do that in college?

Following in the same boat but just for stairs. The dude reviewing everything is kind of a dick. Said everything needs to be done by an engineer or architect

Damn, that sucks. Where do you live? I know in Louisiana architects and engineers aren't allowed to review and stamp plans, they have to create them.

In all of my drawings I put "per code" and sourced an IRC 2015 (what my local jurisdiction uses) quick guide and they were accepted.

In Baton Rouge. It’s some third party reviewer. South Central Planning & Development Commission out of Houma.

Yikes. Hope you work something out. We paid $3,000 for our first set of plans and ended up having to change the scope of our project so I wasn't going to pay for another set.

OP, sounds like you may be SOL going a DIY route.

Look up Viki and Caleb Mire with Mireworks. I’ve had them draw 3 major remodels for me. Plans are very detailed. All three we’ve gone down to stick framing and added at least 1700 sqft. Good people.

A “Per Code” note?

“On the structural plans I just put the note “Build Good.”
