I greatly prefer it being whacked to his family reading some of those comments. It's fine. The purpose was to inform. Everyone knows now.

I read the whole thing. The last few posts that guy made were outrageously ignorant and uncalled for. My thoughts and prayers go to Colin and his family...it's a shame the entire thread had to be whacked, but I suppose the thread served its purpose. 
eta: the Q&A thread SFP linked is a great way to see how insightful this guy was and appreciate his different point of view. I'm mad I missed it when it actually happened.
