Why no Auto Quote?

Every message board I have been a part of has an Auto Quote where if you click the quote button it automatically pastes the quoted content into your post.

When I am reading a large thread, I get lost because there will be a random comment that someone is replying to someone 10 pages back.

Why not just have an auto quote?

Not sure what could be the problem on your end

When I click Reply and it shows the user's post that I'm replying to under the textbox, I just highlight whatever I want to quote and click quote and it auto-quotes it

Works for me on desktop, not mobile.

Also, this works for all of the markup buttons: bold, italics, underline...

That's not auto quote.

I actually prefer our system better.

First off you can click the name of the person the poster was replying to and get brought back to the message in question.
Secondly most of the time when I quote I don't want the entire post, just a snippet, and it's so simple for me just to highlight what I want to quote and then press the quote button and it's all done for me/

I prefer it as well, auto quoting makes boards too cluttered IMO.

Because auto quote sucks.

This is the cleanest best formatted board on the Internet.

Tough market in LA. How about a Homeowner Quote?

I'm just glad we don't have signature limits. Some boards one poster can fill an entire screen with his sig images. Cruise Critic is the worst for this.
