Or has it always been like this?

I feel like I have always been able to highlight the portions of the post I’m replying to and hit quote and it fills in. That’s working but it’s not doing the line breaks.

When I copy something from another website, like an article, and paste it into the quote the line breaks aren’t coming in either. Just a wall of text.

Testing.

Does it work for you when quoting multiple paragraphs?

This is what happens when I quote 3 paragraphs from an article:

quote:

CNN — Hilary weakened from a Category 1 hurricane into a tropical storm Sunday morning, but is still expected to slam into Southern California – a rare threat for the region that forced the evacuations of residents and the closures of parks and beaches ahead of potential flooding, fierce winds and heavy downpours. Hilary has maximum sustained winds of 70 miles per hour as it barrels north-northwest at a speed of around 25 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center. It was about 220 miles south-southeast of San Diego as of about 7:45 a.m. local time Sunday. Live updates: Tropical Storm Hilary to bring major flooding risk to California At least one death is already attributed to the storm. A person died when their vehicle was swept away near Santa Rosalía in Mexico, along the Baja California Peninsula, Mexican officials said in a news release Saturday.

Here’s how it appears when I quote it:

Same thing if I’m quoting a poster who posted multiple paragraphs. Minor issue for sure but just wondering if it’s not working as intended.

IIRC, it's always done that (stripping out the line breaks), hasn't it? Or at least it has for a while now.

Speaking of markup, a weird thing I've noticed since the site came back up last week is that when posting an image, I click 'img' as usual, paste the link, and then sometimes have to click on 'OK' like three or four times for it to accept the text.

It doesn't happen every time, but when it does, it's almost like the popup window gets hung up, and the clicks are showing, just not registering.

Not a big deal, just noting it in case anyone needs to know.

Hmmm…I see what you’re saying.

quote:

"To make a long story short, I almost lost my wife, my '67 Corvette and my cat." Biden has recalled the story multiple times in recent years in an apparent attempt to connect with victims of natural disasters. A 2004 report from The Associated Press, archived by LexisNexis, said lightning struck the Bidens’ home and started a "small fire that was contained to the kitchen."

Yeah, maybe it’s always done it. I’ve never really noticed to be honest.

As far as I recall, it's always done that and it's annoying. Most of the time, I will paste the info into the post and then put manually put the quotation marks at the beginning and the end. I used to try to go in and find the paragraphs and hit return, but that was a PITA.
