I don't feel like spending a lot of time in this but I agree to a certain degree. He needs to be banned from PT. Not TD.
He's an incredibly effective troll. I'll give him that. Obviously, he's fooled Fred. He says things that are calculated to get off topic responses and to watch the board burn, while at the same time not being over the top inflammatory.
It's constant. Sometimes it is subtle, sometimes it's not. He's great at it.

There are plenty of other team posters that are fine and don't elicit that response. RTR, primeTime etc. They are fine.
There's a reason why Boom is universally hated and it's not because he's a rockets fan.
Imagine if a poster was a Falcons fan. He's a total dick, and constantly posts belittling things about the Saints, constantly trolls and derails topics, and turns innocent threads into Falcons threads.
It wouldn't be tolerated.

You can't look at Boom's post over a day period of posting and identify he's trolling.. it's a long drawn out thing.
He derails a lot of threads for the sake of derailing them. Posters that flame back are derailing for the sake of trolling him..it's different.

t's a tricky situation, chick.
Boom can discuss hoops with Pels fans sometimes. But there are a lot of posters on Pels Talk who don't recognize a troll attempt, so they will take the bait and thread will go 6 pages of dumb back and forth.
Personally, I can read over his stuff. But when a decent thread gets derailed on page 2 from boom vs the Pels fans, then that's all she wrote. And now, we got pages full of gifs responding to him on on top of the back and forth about lord knows what. It's just getting worse and worse.

He thinks he's the end all be all when it comes to basketball knowledge and discussion. He comes to the board with his condescending ways never to have actual discussion but to just see how much of a ruckus he can create

it's officially out of hand. i kinda figured awhile back that whoever patrols the board isn't a huge Bball guy. Boom operates under a slick guise and his attempts to troll are usually always veiled. He's def one of the best. It would be a tedious job deciphering what's legit vs what's BS
I think RAing would be useless. By that time, the threads are dead by the time you guys could do anything

Yeah, Boom has been trolling and derailing threads on PT for as long as I've been around. The fact that he has not been dealt with by now speaks to the fact that the board is not properly moderated, and I'm sure the mods would agree that none of them actually regularly visit the board. The solution here to me, as others have already suggested, is to make a trusted regular board member moderator over PT. TigerInATL immediately comes to mind, he is probably one of the most quality posters across the entire site.

PT is a notoriously slow and humorless board, and Boom makes things interesting. Yea he's annoying, but he's smart and frankly backs his shite up with facts and good arguments. I appreciate that kind of thing when I'm arguing against random people on the internet.
Maybe tell him to stop turning every goddamn thread into a Rockets pissing match, but beyond that let him do what he does. it's good for the board.
