Do you type out Louisiana State University every time?
Maybe he only hates acronyms on the Soccer Board ... which sucks because I usually just call my favorite English Premier League team "Spurs" but now I'll have to type out "Tottenham Hotspur Football Club" every time.

Does it help that USSA calls the USMNT that? And the girls are USWNT?

Or should we write a letter to them?

USMNT is actually an official acronym, unlike, for example, JJ, CJJ, CPM, CLM, etc. on the Rant.

Nobody is trying to change the rule. I'll respect that some of the SB regulars really want it to stay, fine, all I'm asking for is for a Score Board. I don't see why that's so hard to have.

USMNT is an official acronym, and it's a little easier than writing out United States Men's National Team every time. No need to feign hatred for the use of acronyms in general just because you're not familiar with this particular one

The game thread is the score board.

Well there are 3-4 other threads on that board right now saying that Spain lost in the thread title. And that will continue to happen throughout the cup

I agree that this is an issue...you should ban people for stating the result of the game in the title if you're going to ban people for putting the score in the title

It's a simple rule. Really don't understand why it's not easy to follow.

I'm not disagreeing with the rule of not having scores in the thread title. I just don't get how having a thread title that says "Adios Spain!!!" or something is any better

It's not better.

Simple rule: no spoilers in thread titles.

I've been banned for that on the MTV board.

I'm fine not posting the actual score, but for example someone posted a thread titled "Fastest goal in WC history?" after Dempsey's goal and it got whacked.
That was my thread. And it was a legit question. Only opening the thread would have given away that Dempsey had scored a goal. Why would people be on the soccer board mid game during a prime time US game anyway if they didn't want/expect to be "spoiled"?

Wrong. It was one thread, and he changed the title.

I'm guessing the other threads are the riot cam one (started about 40 minutes into the match), the bracket one (which could be that Spain just looked terrible, a la Brasil earlier), and two threads that most people wouldn't understand (the racist one (from the first match) and the Dandy one (one was also made for Randy during the Belgium match, which Belgium ended up winning).

I have no idea why the "fastest goal" thread was whacked, and I don't think it should have been.

I think it would be nice if all the boards here were score spoiler free.
