My understanding is that members are subject to being banned for bumping old threads. If that's correct, then what is the difference between bumping an old thread and providing a link to an old thread?
I'm asking because there is one punk on PT who occasionally links a thread I started 7 months ago, and he also misrepresents what the thread was about. Seems like that should be disallowed, but that's why I'm asking about this.
I couldn't care less about anybody getting banned for this tactic. I just would like to know what the board policy is on this.

You can be banned for bumping old threads? Why? If the topic or conversation is still relevant, it seems to be a reasonable thing to do.
