I believe this could have happened, 100%.

He's doing 21's, but such a jackass about it.

You do 21s on a machine or with a spotter so he can remove the weights while you wait.

I don't have anyone to work out with. I workout in the gym my employer built for us. When you work out by yourself, you just get it done.

I drop bumper plates all the time but that's it.
I haven't done 21s in years, and who does 21s on bench?

I do.
If I pull something in my back. Or if I am going to fall down. Otherwise I place them.
I once got into it with a gym hero. Doing incline dumbbell flys. When I set the down I put the weight in front of me. My feet are on them to keep them close. Some guy who was probably my age now tells me I need to get them out of the walkway. I asked where he suggested I put them since I would use them again? He got huffy. I pointed out to him that the bench was BOLTED DOWN.
Some gym guys need to be golf course marshalls. Not the guy in the OP though. You can't drop weights like that unless you are 12-13 and in junior high and want to feel tough when you have zero idea what you are doing.
I agree with some that this looks staged.

Drop them or set them on the floor? There is a big difference in the two. No reason to drop or throw weights on the floor, use that as a rep of deadline and set your weights on the floor. Maximize your time in the gym.

Probably about 50-60% of the people who go to the Zoo in Kenner. Anytime I go in there at night, there's weights all over the fricking place.
