But holy smokes. I actually took to counting a couple days of my normal meals and I’m like hitting 50%, sometimes 33% of what my goal should be using the 1g/lb rule
WTF are you eating? Just eat whole foods. Eat steak, ground beef (anything from 80/20 to 90/10 is fine) bacon, eggs, chicken, maybe some Greek Yogurt and throw in a couple of Whey shakes if needed (I'd use a clean Isolate but others will argue Concentrate is fine as well)
Supplement with Creatine (at minimum use creapure) get 8 hours of sleep a night, train hard. No matter what your goals are you should want the smallest waist possible I don't give a shite if you are bodybuilding, powerbuilding, doing crossfit or some other gay exercise program, or even just walking you want to have the smallest waist possible to be healthy. If your waist isn't getting smaller you aren't going it right. Just prioritize protein, sleep, and exercise. This isn't rocket science.

And on peanutbutter, but it has protein in it? Do you just mean its fat-to-protein ratio is too high for it to function well as a primary source of protein in one’s diet?
It’s a plant protein, so it’s not a complete protein for a human being. At least that’s my understanding.
You’re building a person, not a peanut.

Nothing wrong with getting 60-80 grams a day with protein shakes. Im totally 215g a day and have a pre and post protein shake. And still maintain totally intake sub 2k calories.

One of the things I like doing is making pulled pork. If I want I can make a 6lb shoulder that can last me about a week. 5oz of pulled pork, 3 over easy eggs on top, add in a protein shake and you've got 80g of protein in that single meal.

Of course not which is why I told him to drink a couple of shakes a day if needed. I have one shake right after my morning workout and one before bed. Protein shakes are great supplements to your diet but you should be focusing on whole foods if you want to build muscle and lose fat and not look like shite. There is nothing more 'anabolic' outside of PEDs that you can put in your body than real whole food. I'm preaching to the choir here I know.

I was eating with basically zero regard
My work is field based so usually I picked up w/e bready fast food sandwiches I could when I could. Up until recently I had a fast metabolism and nothing would really stick to me.

leaner ground beef and rice bro.
look in the putthaforkdown thread, i listed a could instagram pages that rountinely put out great meal prep recipes in the 500 calorie and 50g protein range. 3 of those and a shake and boom you are there for most people.
and shite, try a psmf and then i will listen to complaining. 250g of protein in 1200-1400 max calories is hard. not 200 in 2000k cals.

This does complicate things a bit so I can sympathize with you. There are a lot of good folks on here who know what they are talking about and have great suggestions. Take notes and there are ways to get the meals in. I'd prep and carry around a small cooler with you if needed and supplement with 2 or 3 50g shakes a day.

Peanuts are legumes (beans, peas, lentils). Legume protein is low in essential ammino acids like methionine and cysteine. Animal protein would be a much better source.
So, you are correct in that you are getting protein but not the most optimal source along with a ton of fat. Probably 70% or more of the calories in PB are from fat. Be careful...

you need to look in to luncheaze lunch boxes
they are battery powered. you put your meal in the metal container night before and store in fridge and charge the lunch box at night. then in the morning, set the timer for what time you want the food hot and it will make sure the meal is ready to go.
life saver for those that work in the field. they are expensive at like $150.
if you have a truck where you work, they have 12v ones.

For breakfast I eat a container of Ratio Protein Yogurt and Fairlife protein shake.
320 calories and 55 grams of protein combined.

80g of protein in that single meal.
Maybe this is a totally different conversation, but are you people supplementing fiber too? How the hell isn’t everyone shitting everything away after ingesting 55-80g of protein in a sitting
I was told to space it out cause the body can only use so much at once and will evacuate what it can’t process

doesnt work that away. that came from the fact that muscle protein synthesis is maxed at 30g protein. but what happens is your body slows absorption after that and your body keeps mps high longer.
is it better to space out....very slightly but better to hit the macros consistently and not worrying about minor things like timing until you are below 15% bodyfat at most.
as far as fiber, i dont and dont need to. have no problem shitting.

Great point. This was one of my carnivore meals. And yes, the diarrhea was legendary, looked like how the L.A. river looked like the last couple of days. When I finished carnivore I started using a Flax based wrap. 25g of carbs but 18g of them were fiber. Helped fix that problem.

When getting my undergrad I always got into heated debates about this with some of my professors. I've always thought it was garbage thinking and recently more studies have come out proving I was right. But the argument I used that would constantly win was people who ate One Meal A Day (OMAD). According to their idea a person doing OMAD couldn't possibly intake enough protein to be healthy. And even early man used to have to go days without eating.

Yeah I dont buy the max protein metabolism in one meal thing. It has never made sense to me.

It’s not that hard really. I’m over 130g by lunch

Peanut butter is candy that they’ve convinced people it’s healthy
Protein powder is an adult milkshake
Real protein sources bleed and stuff
