Heat index was the same in Baton Rouge and Death Valley , CA yesterday.

High temps don't mean as much when the humidity is 5%

The heat and humidity in Louisiana is 10 times worse than it is in Arizona. That's not even debatable

you can't always tell when you are becoming heat-exhausted. I ran 14 miles one afternoon in MT this summer, and I didn't realize how hot it was. I had water with me the whole time. Came home. Felt fine. Took a nap. Woke up shivering and puking water. Fun stuff. I was fine the next am and ran a half marathon, so it couldn't have been that bad. but it scared me, as it had never happened before.

it was in the high-90s for the last 4 miles or so, as the sun had risen over the mountains. it didn't feel all that hot, but clearly it was.

If you go running when it's 110-118 degrees outside and nothing but sun...you are setting yourself up for a heat stroke. Even with low humidity. 110 is fricking hot even if it's a "dry heat". Watch the local news in PHX metro and you will see several people having to be helicopter rescued off local mountains here because they went hiking during the hottest part of the day with not enough water.

ERs and urgent cares all over the metro area see people come in during the summer for heat related injuries.

Road construction in the summer is either done at night or early AM.

There have already been almost 100 deaths in the PHX area that were heat related.

The hottest part of the day is irrelevant to location. Every subject doesn't have to be about Arizona and you.

Fine Nurse. You win again. Arizona is hotter and better than the state you were born, raised and educated in. Congratulations

It's not even debatable and you misogynist shitstains that have never been out of the swamp have little ground to stand on.

Phoenix heat in the summer gets to extremely dangerous levels. It's 93 in Baton Rouge with a heat index of 102. 102 would be a cool summer day between June and September. Not to mention you're exposed to more UV radiation due to Phoenix's elevation. There's even partial clouds in Baton Rouge right now.

Let me know the last time South Louisiana broke 110 in the heat index department.

Yesterday was 108

It varies of course. For example right now the heat index is only 89 in
Pheonix and 106 in Shreveport.

Exactly. I get excited now when the highs are only 102 during the summer months

This is very true. I have to warn people visiting that you will burn much easier here. I have like 6 different types of sunscreen depending on what activity I'm doing. If I'm gonna be outside for more than 15 minutes...I've got sunscreen on.

You're not going to get as much Vitamin D at other times of the day, I wouldn't think.

My main point in my first post was that where I live.....it's well known that it is a bad idea to do any strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day.
It's very hazardous to your health and can be a death wish.

In general anywhere that is a bad idea....but even more so when it is the really high temps common in my area during the summer. And then I get attacked for simply stating a fact. So again....frick you.

Look, you tard. It is common knowledge that it is a bad idea to do any strenuous activity in the dead heat of summer in just about anywhere it gets over 90 degrees.

Furthermore, you consistently highlight your insecurities by going into threads bringing up where you live. We get it, you hate Louisiana and live in Arizona. How many more times will you feel the need to remind the board?
