I'm looking for plates. My youngest just received a child's Olympic barbell. Her bar goes to 100#. She wants an assortment of plates and a stand.

Those flybird adjustable dumbbells look pretty low quality, but $230 for a set that goes up to 90 lbs is tough to pass up

Thanks, I'll check these out. The sleeves on her bar are pretty short so I was focusing on bare plates.

When it comes to things like plates and spring collars, aint nothing wrong with CAP. So you got these ones with the rounded edges? I'd like some of those, they got an old school look.

I bought all of my plates and most of my dumbbells from Academy. The CAP plates are fine.

Just ran across optimum nutrition whey protein (best out there) 2x 5lbs tubs on Amazon after coupon and 50% bogo = 96 bucks. Low by 70. That's a steal.

It not that set, but I've had those same plates for a decade now. They are all almost spot on in weight and have held up just fine.

Figured I'd bump this.
Academy (as usual) lost my damn order between the time they said it was ready and 45 min later when I got to the store to pick it up. I was aggrivated but not super upset as it was really more weight than I wanted currently.
After searching around and not finding anything else near $1/pound, I started searching FB marketplace. Most people are selling old beatup weights for $1.25/pound. I did stumble across a CAP listing for brand new $1/pound.
It turns out they have a wholesale warehouse in west Houston. I took my daughter out there today after gymnastics and let her pick the style of plates she wanted. She picked out the thin CAP grip plates. They're perfect for her bar since it has small sleeves. 2-25#, 4-10#, 2-5#, and 2-2.5# for $113 after tax.
If any of yall are in the greater Houston area, it's located near Westpark and Beltway 8. I definitely plan on going back when I get space to build an actual home gym.

Is that in regards to an Academy or CAP warehouse? If you are in Houston, I'd also recommend looking in to Get RX'd for equipment. It's where I got my initial barbell and bumpers from since they were one of few players that had equipment after the pandemic and they offer local pickup to save on shipping. I ordered a few small items from them during Black Friday that I plan on picking up next week.
The only notable BF deal I got was a Fringe Sport tactical plate vest. Was 30% off and got 10% more for local pickup. Many companies (including Fringe) are also doing 12 days of Christmas sales.

These are the ones she picked for $1/lb. They also had racks, bumper plates, adjustable DBs, etc. I believe the bumper plates were $1/lb also and 4 post racks were $250. I didn't ask about others.
