Is this weight gain typical?

Long story short, I dropped a ton of weight in ‘23 with fasting and cardio. I’m 2 weeks in the gym now. My routine is cardio every day, and alternating days between weight machines (nothing crazy) and core training. In the first 10 days I put on 6 lbs. Seems a little excessive since I’m taking no supplements, not lifting heavy, and still eating right.
I am in no way trying to bulk up. Just want to clear that up.
My first day in the gym I was 5’8” 158 lbs for reference.
TIA.

Diet has not change and no supplements. I still do a one meal a day fast 3-4 days per week. Don’t appear to be gaining any physical size, but I weight 6 lbs more.
Might not be a big deal at all and I’m overthinking it.

I think you shouldn’t worry about it since you’re small. Live your life

Kind of my thoughts, at 5’8 under 160….he should be trying to build muscle if he wants to keep the weight off long term and drop all the cardio and hit a free weight based progressive overload program

Probably just water retention. See this Cleveland Clinic article.

Concur with 77
Added muscle mass will help you maintain a steady weight in the long term.
