There is a midnight start Area 51 Half Marathon that looks awesome.
There is also another one in Norway under the northern lights that looks kickass too.
If you really want to be dramatic you could do the North or South Pole marathon. Or the 7 marathons in 7 days on each continent.

I would love to do the North Pole race but $20K is just ridiculous. I got it, but I’d rather redo our master bathroom for that kind of dough

I've heard the Napa Valley Marathon is pretty bad arse through the wineries with a bunch of hills.

Did the Mt Rushmore half a few years back with Vacation Races. Absolutely amazing trip and very professional, well run organization.
