No, haven't tried it. But, what are the cold hard facts?

It works well for recovery in the same sense an ice bath works. Incredibly overpriced though.

Most sessions are charged at $50+ and those companies aren't using more than $1-$2 of nitrogen

It does sound very overpriced.

I bet it does work wonders for soreness and recovery. I did a p90x leg work out a couple years ago. This was in winter. I got in my pool which was probably only 55-60 degrees. By no means an ice bath. The difference in typical leg soreness over 2 days was markedly better.

I have done it a few times, it's a fun experience but imo you're not going to get the results you want unless you do it multiple times per week. At that point it becomes fairly expensive.

This is not how to do it. Sounds horrible.

Like Carbonne in Goodfellas.

It's an incredibly expensive technology right now. The machines are anywhere from 45-60k and the nitrogen cost are 5-7 dollars per session. The cost will eventually come down.

I tried searching some of the equipment sites but could find- about how many gallons of N2 are used in a session?

Some gas companies won't even write a contract with Cryo facilities citing liability issues. There was a case when cryo was brand new of a lady dying from nitrogen displacement.

It is certainly dangerous. All it takes is one breath of mostly pure N2 and you are done. I recall reading a lady dropped her phone in the chamber and bent down to get it, inhaling a breath of pure n2, passed out, and died

That I'm not certain of. I did research the equipment cost and operating cost a Couple weeks ago and they said you could get about 30 sessions "per tank" so that may tell you. I'm unsure exactly how big the tanks are.

When I think ice bath I am thinking small tank or tub (like trainers office) full of ice. that has got to be 40 degrees.
