Just monitoring things a little closer lately and prefer not to run to the doctor every time.

I did not know this was a thing that existed. Obviously never used it then, but I'm going to try one out. In the past I remember doing some amount of reading and research into Everylywell, but I don't remember what I was looking into, probably HgbA1C. Are you looking to do a home test where you can get the result right away at home? Or are you cool with mailing off a test sample and waiting a few days?
What little reading I've done about home tests leads me to feel that the home testing meters aren't accurate/precise enough, especially at the current prices. I use a glucometer for my diabetes, and it's accurate enough for day to day tracking of blood sugar, but it only cost $30. I'm not in a huge hurry for the results so I'd have no issues just mailing my sample off and waiting if it means the results are more reliable.

Everyone should have their Apo A and B levels checked. It was $30 for me at Quest diagnostics. It basically double clicks on a basic lipid panel and tells you what kind of LDL you have and how much.
After reading Peter Atia‘s book, he said that’s his baseline he’s tested all his patients with and said he hasn’t used a lipid panel in years because it doesn’t tell him anything.
