It's gotta be keeping your lead arm relatively straight, no?
definitely high up there, i've never seen anybody with a very bent lead arm hit a ball well.

The only correct answer here is impact

i guess if there's a right answer this would be it.
i think the most important aspect, or centerpiece is making sure the trail elbow goes in front of the stomach and out toward the target, which ensures if nothing else a good impact.
in order for this to happen, you have to have a straight arm, weight shift, cover the ball, etc. you can even get away with a not so great pivot and still hit straight, reliable golf shots, they just won't be as powerful.

That's the only thing that counts

when i think of very bent though, i think of ladies out there folding their arms around their necks in the backswing.

I'm sure mine isn't 100% straight....but I want the feeling that it is. At least until the top of my backswing. It takes care of so much in my swing.

Your stance.
The rest of the body will go where the feet lead.

Barkleys swing is smooth like butta

imo, the golf swing has too many parts for any one of them being the "most" important. the instant of impact is when everything better be right. lee Trevino had the worst backswing I've ever seen in a pro but at impact his weight was shifting, his wrists were breaking and the club face was square on the ball. but i'm impressed with your golf lingo.
