I'm playing in a charity golf tournament, 2 person scramble, at Frisco Lakes. Frisco, TX.
Where's everyone else at this weekend?

Not sure if golf in SLa is a possibility but I was hoping to play Tamahka Trails this Saturday

I'm going to try to play Saturday. Laffy has pretty much dodged this thing so far.

Just got this text from my old man:
He turns 70 in October.

Played Pt mallard. Shot 66 with 8 birds. Missed 3' on 7 & 4' on 17. Was plus 16 in dogfight. Some serious whining going on.

Supposed to be playing in a scramble this weekend onf my buddy's' family's course outside of Jackson.
It's actually really cool. His grandad built three greens on his family property (they're farmers so have plenty of land) and several tee boxes. You can play 18 holes out there switching up which tee boxes you play into which greens and it's really fun. The greens are actually in great shape they're just slow as hell.
Anyway, we're playing Saturday then doing a Calcutta that night and finishing up on Sunday they're cooking us steaks and providing beer. Really hope this rain holds off although I doubt it does.

Mallard was a no joke course last time I played it, which was a tournament about 25 or 30 years ago.
I wonder what it's like from the old guy tees. Still no matter what 8 birdies is stout.

They re-did the greens about 10 years ago, made them bigger and switched to a newer Bermuda, added some bunkers.
Plays about 6,000 from the tees he plays now.

I don't have to travel this week - thanks Cindy!!
Maybe play at Black Bear or try to get an invite to Squire. There is a tournament in Arcadia - may hit that up.

Also, don't listen to your forecaddie.

I saw your post, they seem to be getting more rain that us, I may just leave the sticks at home, course was good otherwise?

Mossy Oak just needs time to mature. The natural areas are just mud right now. The layout is fantastic, though.
Both courses were pretty soggy and this was before the rain today.

Yep. It's gonna need a year or so before all that natural grass grows in and then it will look fantastic.
Waverly is in great shape right now but it's gonna be raining all weekend in MS

I figured between the rain and a Saturday afternoon poker game that my best bet for golf this week was early in the week. Played 18 after work on Tuesday. Shot an 85. Left a few strokes out there, probably should have been closer to 81.
