Played there last weekend. Greens were little bumpy, sandy and grass was long. Course over all is in good shape. If the greens were cut and rolled since then they should be in good/great shape.

Fairways need some love, but I blame the time of year.

Greens punched and recovering. Should be good to go in the coming weeks.

The time of year? You mean the perfect time of year to grow grass? Someone please tell the super to raise the mower blade 1/2-3/4”.

let me enlighten you. Raising the height of cut 1/2"-3/4" when fairways are only mowed in the 1/2" range, so raising it another 1/2-3/4" will make it close to rough height. The grass still really isn't going yet, because of these cool nights. we are close, but not there yet. I have some rough areas in my fairways due to irrigation issues late summer and again at christmas when it got cold. The superintendent at the Island has plenty of experience and knows how to grow grass.

Is there any truth to the 150* temperature saying? Bermuda needs night time lows and day time high to be above 150 total? So like night time 65 and day time 85?

That’s just something I was told as a kid and it always stuck with me

There’s appear to be being mowed at the 1/16” range.

yes there is truth to the rule of 150*. you will see increased growth when the 150* combo is hit consistently.

Greens were in fantastic shape today. Big turnaround since last week.

No they weren't. They were ok but not fantastic. The whole course needs a little growing in.
