Swing thoughts in the sand

Having a real issue controlling the distance out of the sand and wanted to see if someone had a specific swing thought that makes it easy for them.
I try to hit behind the ball a few inches but end up chunking it or the blading it off the bounce. I used to be decent in the sand, now I just write it off and say at least im out and move on.

Weight forward
Speed speed speed
Height of follow through determines distance.
That last one may not be “correct” but it’s my thought. I’m really good in the sand. I’m always trying to make it.

Prayer, lots of prayer. I don’t play enough anymore to be good at it consistently.

I’ve recently begun my swing down into the ball deliberately trying to miss the ball on the inside (about 1” behind ball, but try to swing it inside to miss it). It has worked well for me / it’s a diff thought but the same as trying to swing outside to in / distance is changed by switching to either 60 or 56 and either open or straight face for each

In addition to these, make sure the handle is pointed at your right thigh or where it’s behind the club head; never want shaft lean on a bunker shot

Let your hands win the race to the ball before releasing the clubhead, swing through to a full finish

You mean besides not thinning the shite out of it and killing one of my playing partners??

As Grant Horvat says “slap the sand.”

try the morikawa method
take your normal stance/grip and then move your trail foot back to where the toe would be in line with the back of your front foot. this keeps your weight on the front

I was told this awhile back and it works for me.
Picture the ball in the middle of a dollar bill. Your swing needs to sweep through the dollar bill. This forces me to continue accelerating past impact.

Ball on a dollar bill. Club in the sand at the beginning of the bill and out at the end.

Pretend there is a dollar bill sitting under the ball. Scoop the dollar out without breaking it.

I’m lost currently in sand.
I’ll hit some good ones, but then thin one 70 yards.

Most random analogy but somehow I know exactly what you mean

As many have said. Weight forward, lower swing plane, keep acceleration, slap the sand; don't dog.
Actually, my first thought about being in the bunker os "Oh shite! Not fricking there!"

Open stance, get low, hit an inch or two behind, and finish with the club face pointing back at me.

I’m not a fan of picking a spot behind the ball for this reason. I would say just try to hit under the ball and blast out some sand. Don’t try to help the ball up. Let the loft do the work.

Don’t blast sand all over myself
Pop it up, get out, move on
