For this to be a loss for LIV. Maybe, just maybe the other group lost?

Don’t think either side ‘won’. The Saudis got tired of the crap product their CEO was putting out there with the players they spent big money to attract. They got no traction with the media or networks. So they prob said screw Norman and sat down with the PGA and said ‘we want a seat at your table and we’re willing the make it worth it for you’.

PGA tours gets to bring the best players back to their tour and get an influx of cash to grow the tour with.

Don't you think they did this before starting an entire golf league?

The answer is yes, they did..and the PGA told them to get borked.

Not sure anyone won except the Saudis to be honest.

LIV spent $2B in two years...to join the PGA. Think about that. They could have simply offered $1B to borrow the top PGA players for part of the year. Instead of "changing" professional golf, they merged with the entity they set out to disrupt. Thats not a win.

And you can say the same about the PGA- they merged with the league they disavowed and swore never to join. Buuttt, since they didn't join LIV...

Well yeah, and it was not going to plan for either entity, so they sat back down.

They just got handed over to Jay Monahan who is gonna call the shots. We don’t know who won. The only real winner here is the Saudis.

This was driven by 2 things sponsors concerns about the LIV players showing up well in the majors and the Majors allowing the players to participate in the Majors...PGA tour doesn't own the Majors . Of course banning them would have helped LIV in the anti-trust suit but the anti-trust suit was a 5 year expensive investment with chance the tour could have lost and then put the tour in a financial pickle. Best case scenario occurred today!

And when they got up from the table, Saudi Arabian is the Chairman of the Board of the PGA Tour.

For non-business people, this seems like a big deal, but the chairman is a figurehead and has no special authorities outside of his board vote. The PGA by all accounts retains voting control.

I think the reaction from tour players is they are upset jay didn’t communicate this to them and they’re finding out via Twitter.

According to stuff I saw even tiger didn’t find out about this until earlier today.

Exactly. The PGA tour just basically expanded itself. This is going to be great for fans. Jay’s job is to make these tough decisions even if he gets criticized. I do think the comments regarding the PIF are coming back to note them.
Maybe this can help change things in the Middle East.

Good thing I'm a businessman:

PIF will have the exclusive right to further invest in the new entity, including a right of first refusal on any capital that may be invested in the new entity, including into the PGA TOUR, LIV Golf and DP World Tour.

Cool, businessman, what does this have to do with board control?

I'll break it down for you. Since PIF is controlling the PGA tour now, evidenced by the right to exclusively invest in all 3 tours, they installed the "figure head" position of COB.

Let me break it down for you.

Having a first right of refusal for funding doesn't mean you control the business. I have investors in my business that have ROFR rights for future funding. They don't control my business.

Know who does? The guy who controls the board votes.
