I’ve never played the bluffs so don’t have much to offer other than it’s sad to see a golf course close.

When it was in good shape, it was my favorite in-state course. Has a cool layout.

Renaissance is ironic and the 11 year old who signed the letter gets an F in penmanship

That is such an amazing property — hate seeing this again

Seems the POA would have quite an interest in keeping up the golf facility but I know there are layers upon layers of issues on top of how expensive golf courses are to keep up in general

I bet houses will be even cheaper than they have been.
Such a shame, it’s a fantastic layout, especially for Louisiana.

It was a great course, a legit test that was just too far from btr to make it.

Yep, it's too far from Baton Rouge. And the golfers around St. Francisville isn't enough to support it. When the original owner, LJ Sevin, sold it to Jim Tanner.....it was OVER. They need an owner like Mr. Sevin was who is ok with losing a million a year. It cannot make money.

It honestly wasn’t in bad shape about 2 months ago. Much better than it had been the past 2-3 years.

I have never understood why golf course communities do not require a minimum membership level for all homeowners from the time of development?

If they had just 71 more members paying $350/month, that would cover that. I assumed it was more than 300k

It’s called “tax” money.
Just stop dancing around it and sell it to the parish. It’s too much for too little return. You can simply the maintenance. Use that massive clubhouse for some parish identity. Scale it back and make something functional out of it.

It could have possibly been just 300k. You have to think they were probably spending very little on Maintenance. I’m sure they had payroll cut down to a minimum too.

The parish would want it?
