I'm rooting for market competition. Who the new league is financed by is irrelevant.
What should happen, and will happen, is that the PGA and LIV will "merge" and go about their business and for certain events, the whole band will get back together, which again, is what LIV and its players wanted from the beginning.
The world's top players don't want to have to play the Rocket Mortgage Open in Cleveland in July.

One thread says the PIF talks are over and another says a deal is all but certain. No one here knows what will happen.

Reports are that PGA made a deal with a different investor without PIF. Merger seems unlikely

Correct. Still seems unlikely for the merger to happen any time soon, if reports are correct that Al-Rummayan wasn’t happy with including SSG.
Their new deadline is set around The Players/The Masters, so hopefully they can get it figured out. Looks like that is the best path to getting all the best players playing together again

I don't know why he wouldn't. He took on the role as the figure head of the PGA and Jay turned around and hung him out to dry. Surprised he hasn't done it as an FU to Jay already.
