Shot 73 at Banff the one time I played, with rental clubs. About 10 strokes better than my usual travel score. Played a par 3 with a boatload of screaming rafters shooting the rapids. My favorite hole was our number 10 (maybe used to be number 1?), par 4, drive is very elevated, takes forever to land.

I have a ton of family in the SLC area. Had a family connection to Glen Wild and missed my chance to get on. My dad just played Sand Hollow with his work friends last Friday. I'll ask him what he's been playing in SLC. I also have a cousin that has been playing quite a bit. That picture looks amazing. I bet the wind can be ridiculous in that valley.

I work off of Frankfort and Preston you must have a pretty nice house if you're in that area I used to drive by that course daily.

Used to be a member there but moved over to Oakhurst in Porter after the flood and really never put much thought into re-joining.

SLC has an absurd amount of good tracks, and the muni's here and in Park City are fantastic. Glenwild is fantastic but I prefer Promontory just because I like Pete Dye's layouts. Then you also have St. George, UT/Mesquite, NV golf. Its never marketed this way but Utah is a destination for golf.

Hobble Creek is an old school experience. Just great. Well worth an hours drive. Here's a pasty dude putting up a good score at Hobble Creek. I don't know why you'd ever want to be in a cart at a place like this, but that's just me: Pasty gangster at Hobble Creek with bad clothing choices

I heard that Oakhurst is a goat ranch now. I used to live in Oakhurst back around 2008 and at 40 bucks it was one of the better values in houston.

Maybe about 2 years ago, they got a bad fungus on the greens and yes, it got danger close to touching goat ranch status. However, it is in better shape now so I hope that status stays circulated because last year got crowded as frick during Covid.

Honestly, I only joined there for the practice area. I can practically drive right up to it so it is pretty painless and if I want to play, generally the course is clear in the PM after K Park/New Caney get done practicing. I play so much at other courses in H-town that being a member of a higher end club like Kingwood is a letdown just being tied down.
