Greatest golf experience of my life. That place, Buffalo Ridge and Paynes Valley are just gorgeous. Everything is pretty much atop the Ozark Mountains. So everywhere you go has amazing views of the courses and surrounding area for many many miles. A view looking up 18 toward the clubhouse:

It feels like disney world for golfers.

I have some pics from the Paynes Valley clubhouse i'll try to share too.

I've played Ozarks a couple times over the past year. Was out there playing on Sept. 5th. Struggled on the front nine but turned it around on the back 9. I've played Mountain Top this year and it was probably sometime last year that I was on Buffalo Ridge. I've not been on Payne's Valley yet.

Johnny Morris has definitely made his courses a destination. Now that our temps are getting back into the mid-80s and high-70s so it should get much nicer, especially when the leaves start to turn.

Did you play any other local courses? Branson Hills, Stonebridge, Pointe Royale, Thousand Hills or Holiday Hills?

This trip was only Ozarks National. It was my first time. Was not prepared for how beautiful it was and how HUGE the fairways are at Payne's valley. When people were playing, they looked so tiny in those fairways.

I think I played Pointe Royale a few years ago. Was not impressed. It seemed just like a public course set within a residential area. Not worth the price.

I've heard about the big fairways at Payne's Valley but again haven't been on them myself yet.

Rounds aren't cheap out there even when I've caught price breaks by playing with an Associate.

They had such a nice range but they took it out for whatever reason. Haven't seen a range with better views other than in St. George. I'm like an 1.5 hours away these courses are all on the list. The weather was perfect this weekend.

We played Ozark, Payne’s, and Buffalo Ridge last summer. Pretty awesome. Payne’s was pricey (around $340) then but looks like it’s upwards of $400 now maybe even closer to $500 with taxes. But that was summer rates and we didn’t stay on site. But definitely a bucket list trip.

Which range? There is an awesome practice area with unlimited balls including a grass tee range, massive chipping/pitching area with full bunkers and practice greens. It lies right between Payne's Valley and Ozark National. There is another huge practice facility over at Buffalo Ridge.

Top of the Rock. Must have been near Cedar Lodge but I don't know. I just always read on social media when they post the pictures of it that it's been bulldozed.

Yeah, I didn't go over to Top of The Rock.

I wonder if it was part of the course that fell into a sinkhole. They lost a huge chunk of that property when it sank.

Found a link. Sounds like the sinkhole is the area you were talking about.

Not to my knowledge. It's to the left of the driving range in the photo posted by wutang. I think Tom Watson designed the driving range and large putting green area. The sink hole might have taken some of the putting green area.

I'm officed across the highway from Top of the Rock and we've had small sink holes form on property due to all of the cave development that has taken place at Top of the Rock.

I was just going by that article I linked. The article says the hole was in the range.

My wife booked Top of The Rock, Ozarks and Payne's Valley for our anniversary for the first week of October. Most I've been excited for a golf trip in awhile

There are just tons of great practice facilities, lookout areas, free food on course, site seeing like PV clubhouse & locker room (some very cool people have some lockers in there). There is a restaurant in PV clubhouse with awesome views. I haven't seen it all but my group blew an entire day just playing Ozarks national and then riding around in golf carts checking out everything we could find at Ozarks national and Payne's Valley. They dont care if you drive around check things out on your cart. The top of the mountain area and buffalo ridge have even more stuff.
