Anyone have it? Is it actually worth the $300? Does it actually help improve your swing/game? I have watched a few videos on it and it seems like it would be really easy to break the sensors with a bad swing. Also, can you chip and pitch with it? I read that the chipping on it isn’t very accurate.

I have it, only used it a few times and I’m not impressed with it at all.

About to move into a new house and will set it up again and give it another try.

Anyone else try it or know anyone who has?

I I have thought long and hard about it, but have held off because it seems to be more of a toy than a simulator.

But then again, if it is a toy that keeps me swinging when I can't go to the course, it may be worth it.

If you buy it, let me know if you like it.

I have one. I enjoy it for what it is. It's not an analytical doppler radar tool like a Flight Scope or GC Quad, but for less than $300, it's a steal. It reads your club head to read swing speed, path, clubhead and then extrapolates the distance and ball path. When I hit it bad, it shows a bad shot. I purposefully hook and slice it, and it registers it no problem.

A few tips:

-To best maximize your the realism, the most important thing would be to get or make a stance mat for OptiShot. The Optishot hardware it about 2 inches thick, so hitting it without a mat is awkward because the ball is above your feet. The mat on their website is the obvious best choice, but it's pricey. You can find others online for less than $250 and then just add thickness. The key is to have the OptiShot sit inside the mat to place the hitting area on "ground level".

-It's also best in a darker area with a white light over the hitting zone.

- Input your own clubs. You can customize a "set" with your actual clubs and indicate their lengths, lofts, typical distances, etc. You can also adjust how the system reads the swing speeds. Once you dial that in, the experience is much better.

In all, there are much worse ways to spend a few hundred dollars. I love it for the fact that after the kids go to bed, I can get swings in every night. It plugs into the laptop via USB, open the program, and start swinging.

I thought this as well, but I'm more scared or damaging my clubs now. The hardware is strong. I've hit shots fat and hit the sensor array and it didn't do anything to it. It makes a hell of a sound though.
