I'm having trouble understanding the difference between closed and open club face. Haven't been playing but maybe under a year. In simple terms, can you guys explain this to me and ways to correct swinging with closed face

Open it. (Turn the club clockwise for a righty)

Assuming you are right handed.

Closed face generates a draw, or right to left.

Open face will generate a fade/cut/slice, or left to right.

If you are having trouble with it going left, you are could be coming across the top of it with a closed face are you are rolling your hands over at impact, thus shutting the face.

I would try to focus on using your left hand a little more and weakening your grip, it could help with that.

In relation to the path of the club or in relation to target line? Your face can be open to the target line and still hit draws and hooks if it is closed to the path. How do you know your clubface is closed?

What does your ball flight look like? If there was a fence post 20 yards directly in front of your ball on the target line, which side of the post would the ball start on and which side would it finish on?
