Finding good public golf in the area can be a moving target. Gotta make some compromises, usually on travel.

I checked out West Pines for the first time recently. Great track for the price.

Sugar hill was in really good condition when I played a few weeks ago.

Steel canyon was a good time, greens weren’t terrible, fun course for price point and I like the links style but I could do with one or two more par 4s on it. I did eagle hole 1 from 125 out

I almost pulled the trigger on a hot deal there, it’s a bit of a drive my house but I don’t mind an hour to hit a tee time.

I just got back from a long weekend playing lake Oconee courses.

Best golf destination trip I’ve ever been on. Way better than anything in Myrtle Beach or Florida panhandle.

7 courses. All bent grass. Beautiful scenery and excellent conditioned courses.

place is definitely quirky, that's for sure

If you didn't mind the oddities of SC but want a fuller size layout you might enjoy Heritage in Tucker.

Very love or hate course with some fun holes but also some stupid holes. It has three 9s but even then gets overcrowded even on weekdays.

Anyway it's worth checking out for yourself. I enjoy it for what it is but a lot of people really hate it

I was pretty sure the cart wasn’t going to make it up some of the holes and I think it was 8 that I absolutely hated. They had some really fun holes though.

I’ll have to check out heritage

Following! Moved here 6 months ago. I get to play Horseshoe Bend on occasion with my FIL but looking for some other courses I can get to regularly.

Country land didn’t disappoint. Fun course, loved the wide open fairways. Greens were great 17 and 18 still had a few holes from being aerated probably 10-13 days ago.

My short game was atrocious trying to get up over the hills and not over run the green.

If you're talking about The Farm in Rocky Face, second that.

Deck Cheatham was the pro there was I was in the business and I got to play it several times. Fun track.

Do they still have those zoysia fairways? Those were unbelievable the few times I played there.

Going back to Steel Canyon this weekend. It was one of the few with a open early tee time.
