Has anyone here played any of the courses there? Advice, tips, and is it worth the price?

We are considering a trip in March. Thanks for replies.

Played Cougar Point and Ocean Course. Both are worth it. If you are staying on the "Island", buy your food and drinks in town. Ocean Course is close to a bucket list course to play. It was great.

Played Osprey point. It was great. Play what ever you can when you're out there. You may never see anything like that again.

I played Osprey Point

Enjoyed the round

We went eat at the clubhouse of Ocean Course and talked to some guys who had their asses kicked out there

I was happy with my score at Osprey

Played Ocean Course at about 40 degrees and 20 mph wind. Was brutal. Shanked a 5 iron in front Lauren Thompson but got it up and down from about 140 for par.

I played the ocean course. It is pricey but definitely worth it. Still my most favorite course I’ve played. Suggest getting a caddy. They will save you a lot of golf balls.

Also if you happen to be in the military it’s only $85 I believe. Not sure if that applies to ex military too.

Played there a few weeks ago - played Osprey, Cougar, Turtle, and the Ocean course. Our round at the Ocean course was right as tropical storm Nestor came thru but we played in it. That was the most wet I’ve ever been with wind gusts over 50 mph. A tournament would have never played in weather that bad - I wish I could’ve experienced it in more normal conditions but oh well.

Stay at the resort, plenty of good places to eat and there’s not much else around anyhow. All amenities and service are top notch. I don’t have any real tips except to buy your Kiawah merch at one of the non-Ocean courses. The prices double in the Ocean pro shop.

Thanks for tips on the merchandise. Right now I think we are looking at Osprey, Ocean and Turtle. How was Turtle?

Outside of the Ocean course, Turtle is the best one IMO. It was probably my favorite course of the whole trip but that may have been affected by how bad the weather was when I played the Ocean course. There’s 3 or 4 holes on the back that are right on the ocean with some of the best views of the entire resort. Turtle also had some of the most memorable holes. Osprey and Cougar were nice and a lot of fun, but the holes on those courses kind of run together in my memory. But Ocean and Turtle very much stand out on their own, so for sure hit those

I played Turtle Point and Cougar Point about three weeks ago. Both great courses. Turtle is a little harder than Cougar Point, IMO, but both are great. Nothing on Kiawah is low quality, so you will be happy with whatever you choose. I do recommend playing the Ocean Course if it is above 60 degrees. Anything less will seem way colder because the wind is brutal. I played it in early November, 2017, and we froze.

Do you take a cart on Ocean or is it a walking course?

We had carts, and then one caddie for the group. He would generally ride on the back of one of the carts and shoot yardages. He would help line up putts upon request. Was pretty cool, and he definitely saved me a couple of shots that day.
