I loved that course before Rita and while its was still a good course afterwards, Id imagine that Laura took out more trees.

Has anyone been there since Laura and is it open ?

Thanks for answering.

Prayers for anyone in this storm's path.

I just got a message from my Church here in Houston and we will start gathering supplies to send to the affected areas tomorrow.

We sent 4 box truckloads for Laura and I expect to do that again.

I remember playing this course prior to Rita and I had only played around LA at the time and I thought "man this place is awesome". The layout was second to none for a flat course. Played it years later after Rita and it was a shell of itself. This is not a knock on the people there, just sad to see what the hurricane did.

I agree MG, Gray was a gem before Rita and I do still like to play it even though it is wide open now.

There was a blonde bartender there years ago that was awesome.

Quite the arse, whoever downvoted supplies for people in need.

The course has been going through some issues tied to the HOA in that neighborhood so it had been closed for a while, but I believe those were recently resolved shortly before the hurricane. When it’s being taken care of, very nice course to play and pretty forgiving after Rita. It hasn’t opened since Laura, but I’d imagine it lost a good bit of trees and is probably going to be simply too forgiving now.

Thanks for the reply Dixie,

Really hate that for the course and the neighborhood.

I live on a course here in Sugarland Tx called Greatwood and it use to be a very good course, but it has gone through too many ownership changes and now it is run by idiots who don't take proper care of it.

Hopefully it will come back and they can replant trees.

I know Lake Charles CC lost over 300 trees. Totally changed the golf course

Damn hate to hear that. Really devalues the course, especially private ones.

I play LCCC a lot and it is definitely more empty. Only real silver lining is that most of the trees that really make the hole what it is did well (looking directly at that evil motherfricker on #8).
