I’m a 7 hcp, play on La Am Tour and have for the past seven years. About a month ago I shot a career best 69. Since then my game has been in the gutter. Lost all confidence. Avg score last 3 weeks is 85 ish. Any advice on how to get back on track? Thanks

serious advice...take some time off, about two weeks and try not to even think about the game. Go fishing, relax, take a trip to the beach. It happens to the best of them, so trust me, it won't last...Went through this exact same thing a few years ago. I started taking mandatory breaks and my scores returned.

I feel your pain. Had a weekend a few months ago where I went 68-69 back to back days. It's so hard to peak like that and keep it going.

For me, it was realizing why I play the game. Instead of focusing on trying to shoot another low score, I had to remember that I just love hitting the little white ball.

All in all - you need to find a way to quit focusing on score, and what you're doing worse this round, compared to the 69. Taking time off will probably do this.

Congrats on the low round.

IMO it sounds like you have to avoid thinking score which is hard to do and get back to thinking about what allowed you to shoot 69. Looking ahead in any way is death in golf.

Have a trigger that gets you into a consistent pre-shot routine, visualize (crazy how great it works), commit, and hit it. Helps you to snap out of thinking score and into your process.
Good Luck

Take time off. Not a couple days but maybe even a couple of weeks. I know you want to figure it out but that's the best advice I can give.

Go purchase a Tour Striker 7 irons and take it to the range....you are guaranteed to work your problems out with that.

I shot a 71 two summers ago. First time under par since I started playing again after college.

I don’t think I’ve broken 75 since
