My only don’t is don’t try to follow Tiger all day if he’s in the field.

I like finding a spot on a hole where a lot of tee shots end up. It’s generally less crowded and you get to see a lot of tee shots and approach shots. And if you’re close enough it’s interesting to listen to the players and caddies discuss the shot.

On Sundays, I like to get a decent spot at the 18th green a little after lunchtime, and watch all the groups come through. Some tournaments have corporate tents dominating the 18th though. Not sure how it is at Southern Hills. I also like walking the course early one morning. It gives you an idea what holes may be intriguing to watch, as well as a good way to scope out areas that have quick access to multiple holes. Bonus if there’s concessions and bathrooms in that area.

Prepare to be amazed. It's one thing seeing it on TV versus seeing it live in person. These guys are so freaking good

I wouldn’t spend all day on a fairway, but it’s good for a few hours.

I also like sitting in the stands behind a par 3 tee box, if available. Good perspective to watch how they shape their shots. We have a senior tour event here in Birmingham every year and that what I do the majority of a day, but it’s also close to the hospitality tent with feee beer.

Thanks for posting this. I registered for next year's PGA Championship at Oak Hill with tickets being released in June. It would be my first time attending a tournament and I don't know what to expect.

I'd recommend walking the entire course on Saturday. You'll be able to find the less popular spots and where the food/beer tents are that don't get a lot of traffic. When I was at the '19 at Pebble we were able to watch all of the leaders go through 13, 14 and 15 on Sunday and there was no line for beer and you could post up on the rope with hardly any crowds.

Go watch them warm up on the range for a while. Last year at the PGA there was a board showing each player's shot statistics while on the range. You won't believe how far they are hitting the ball with what looks like so little effort.

Will be out Saturday as well. SH is a great golf course! Pumped to see it in tourney conditions.

Golf can be a tough spectator sport. Without a booth or corporate tent, we'll probably walk early and then find a place to post up. You can get burnt out trying to follow people around just to catch a glimpse at a shot or two, especially the big names.

I have 2 - Club 1916 tickets for Mon-Thurs & Saturday. If interested email me at nuknuktd@gmail.com

They will be well below face value since we're trying to recoup some cost, plans changed and I'm only attending Friday and Sunday.
