I’m calling my shot now. Wide fairways, 350+ yd drives, wedges into everything. If he gets his distance control with the wedges in check, it’s game over.

Hes going to have to improve his short game bigly. His putting is fine, but some of those wedges are bogies or doubles at AGGC

He’ll have to overcome some tremendous pressure from competitors. He had a great weekend and deserves his win.

Now go out and do it on a stage like Augusta. If he does that, he’s deserving of all the accolades he gets.

Got him at 25-1 a couple of weeks ago. His distance will be a huge advantage especially if it plays cool and wetter than normal in November. He does need to improve his around the green game though.

Man, I actually think Augusta - and maybe the British in certain years - is the worst fit for his current game of all the majors with the way ANGC plays these days. You’ve got to be a complete shot-maker to win there, and Bryson doesn’t have it in the iron and wedge game.

You’ve got to go back to Bubba - who is also a terrific shot-maker - to find a true bomber who won it. To add another data point, Bryson hasn’t played MacKenzie courses well at all - has never finished in the top 25 as a pro at Augusta and played like shite at Royal Melbourne.

Yea he’s got to hit it straighter than he did today to win at Augusta

They redid the course when Tiger was hitting it 290-300. Bryson is driving it 370 at times. He is going to win, assuming he dials in the short irons. You can absolutely overpower that course. If you've ever been there, you can stand on most tees as a single digit and think to yourself, "yea, I'm not going to miss that fairway." Imagine being a tour player and driving it 350. He'll have wedge into every green. You don't need all the shots when your only shot is wedge.

Ge was 67th out of 70 in proximity and negative strokes gained approach im pretty sure. Its not like that is a given. ANGC will truly punish those shots

He is more likely to not make the top 20 than win the whole thing. Since he never has before...

I swear I have never seen someone more overhyped in any sport. Bryson is more or less a nobody, he’s a JAG who feeds on these small tournaments where the big players are just messing around or working on something specific for a real tournament.

I was just having this discussion earlier today. Bryson has never finished higher than 15th in ANY major EVER. All these casual golf fans are now obsessed but every good talked about golfer has a top 10 in one of them if not most of all of them. We were even talking about a guy like Kevin Chappell whose done top 6 in three and then 13th in the 4th.

I guess people just need someone and something to talk about during coronavirus, but yea relative to the rest of the tour players Bryson is a nobody.

This obsession is crazy. It’s like LeBron coverage but with 1/1000th the talent

Why do you hate Bryson so much? Nobody said he was Tiger bro, all of your stats you just put out are useless though... he’s totally changed his game, it’s like a new golfer, not saying he’s going to start dominating but what he did before is kind of irrelevant

Well it’s relevant in the sense he’s never done anything lol. Easy to write it off when there’s nothing to be written off

He won’t be top 10 any major this year

Danica Patrick?

I do think he’s overhyped, cause he is a bomber. He was easy fodder this weekend cause the talent pool was shallow.

No offense to any of the participants.

Tiger was/is also one of the best ball strikers, wedge players, and putters in history. He didn’t win just because he was bashing the ball

He smashed everyone because he hit it further and out played them with irons and the putter. All tiger proofing did was make it harder for short hitters to win.

I’ve been there many times.

My index is 8.7.

I would be thrilled to break 100 from The member tees.

His game is set up to win the US open or the PGA. He will win one or both of those this year.
