Just learned that there is a course on Dauphine Island.

Anyone play it? I may sneak over there this fall and check it out. The online reviews appear to be that the views are great but the course is in so so shape at best.

Played there about 5-6 years ago with a buddy. Maybe things have changed, but it was without a doubt the shittiest, most poorly maintained golf course I have ever seen. Worse than you can even imagine. Fairways were dirt with plugs of coastal grass here and there. Hard to locate fairways. Greens were total shite. It was hard to even identify the tee boxes. I cannot stress enough how bad it was. But maybe it has changed. I’d take a look before paying a greens fee.

Satellite pictures on Google Maps seem to back up your statement

Was confused because the golf course is isle Dauphine but it’s on Dauphin Island. Not worthy the drive ove the bridge when you consider the solid courses in south Alabama.

Somehow I missed this thread. I’ve probbaly played it about 10 times as a junior.

It’s a terrible course on a beautiful piece of property. It has all the makings to be an awesome track if some money could be put into it.

The pro has been the Mayor of DI forever it seems

Here’s an areil pic. Place looks like it could be amazing with a few million poured in. Not many courses right on the water on the gulf coast

What that aerial doesn’t show is that the holes on the left of this photo furthest away from the water sit on top of a dune. View is legit.

After Katrina but before the recession, a company came in with intentions of remodeling but that never came to pass. The piece of property blows any of the other Gulf Coast courses away.

If it's the course, where you can look out and the oil platforms are in plain sight, it's a rough course.

Everything in the pro shop was cheap, but course needed some lovin
