If Bennett is in the top 10 could he turn pro and accept money? If he did would he still be considered low amateur?

I believe they have to declare before the tournament starts.

He should get pretty set up with some NIL $ after this weekend no matter how he finishes.

What does the caddy of a Am. make for the loop at Augusta?

He would have to declare before the event starts.

This. If he would have declared before the tournament, he would have been ineligible. He qualified as an amateur by winning the US Amateur, he would not have qualified as a pro...

IF Bennet wins as an amateur, he may get paid even more in endorsements.

“Only amateur ever to win the Masters.”

His caddy is his coach at A&M. I’m sure his pay is getting to stroll around Augusta for a week. I’m sure he’ll get taken care of, just won’t be the normal 4-10%.

Ken Venteri after having the lead after three rounds was offered a lifetime “job” at ford motor company and membership at Augusta if he won.

Times are a lot different now but I wonder if a similar type deal is in place. Probably not

“As the only amateur to ever win the Masters, I make sure that my clubs are X brand, my glove is Y brand, my shirts are z brand” and on and on and on.

IF Bennet wins, he will get so many endorsements it will dwarf the 2-3 million dollar first place check he passed up.

A major is worth about $30 million in endorsements

Good point on not being eligible to play if he declared before the tournament. I think there have been players who turned pro right after playing the Masters.

I love his story. Kinda gut wrenching, but a remarkable young man. He’s already shattered expectations and should be more than proud of his first two days. Will be interesting to see how he does once the pros start breathing down his neck.

Well, if he wants to stay an amateur, he would only be able to collect endorsements while is still enrolled in college. So it wouldn’t be close to that $30 million figure that is tossed around all the time BUT I bet it would be high 7 figures.

Or he could do even better and turn pro after the Masters

I wonder what kind of "perks" Phil got for winning the 91 Northern Telecom?

What was the 2019 Masters, the one that you mocked everyone on the board about for years and said you’d never post again if it happened, worth?
