Perusing the googles, seems to indicate either Scottsdale or somewhere in Florida. What do you guys say?

Having never been I'd think somewhere like Jupiter Florida. Apparently great golf, but not too big.

How much money do you have?

I mean, do you want really nice course around you, or just a lot of courses around you?

Mid 30s, not a millionaire or anything, but can afford a midsize house and a decent car. Middle upper class basically. Id want one nice course with great practice facilities, hit off grass year round kinda deal. Then some other decent public tracks nearby, within an hour.

Year round may knock it off, but Nebraska.

Interesting take, why Nebraska?

Nebraska Sand Hills have a bunch of really great courses.

Sand Hills
Wild Horse
Dismal River
Landmand

Some very well respected courses in that area.

I would have said Wisconsin, but that feels cold to me.

also, I'd add Fairhope/Daphne. Choose enough to good golf in town but not far from gulf shores or Biloxi, both shockingly good golf towns.

Scottsdale/Phoenix seem like ideal locations although I’ve never experienced the heat in dead of summer.

Summer in northern Michigan, winter in Australia. Maximise great golf courses and daylight.

I live in the Tampa suburbs in a golf community and I think it's great. Nothing like going to practice during my lunch break. There are probably 100 options within a 60/90 minute drive. You have some top tier public options with Streamsong, Cabot Citrus Farms (formely World Woods) and Innisbrook nearby. And we actually are known as being the worst golf city in central/west Florida.

Jacksonville has a bunch of great options. Orlando is great too. I think the only issue with Florida is a lot of people don't like our courses due to no elevation, lots of courses with houses and the heat. All are valid reasons, but I would rather have year round golf that isn't crazy expensive. Plus I am born and raised here, so I don't really care and enjoy what I have.

Yeah, to me what makes Tampa / Orlando so great isn't just the options you have within say a 90 minute drive but if you expand it by a few hours to south florida or up through Jacksonville the amount of world class options is incredible.

I know it can get hot in the summer but the summer heat in Phoenix / Scottsdale and even Vegas (similar to what we had this summer) is one of the biggest knocks for me out there. Also, the variety of courses tou get in Florida is unlike anywhere I've ever been.

I play year-round in Central Florida.
Jupiter, FL is $$$$. CFL is not cheap, but lots of options at different price points.

PRIVATE: Bay Hill, Orange Tree, Islworth, Lake Nona, Orlando CC, Keen's Point, Interlachen CC

RESORT: Grand Cypress, Mission Inn, Disney, Ritz-Carlton, Tranquillo, Hawk's Landing, Streamsong is only 40 minutes or so away, ...

GOOD STUFF: Orange County National (2 courses+9-hole executive course), Champions Gate (2 courses), Southern Dunes, Eagle Creek, Falcons Fire, Celebration, LPGA Daytona (2 courses) ...

GOOD "LOWER END": MetroWest, Legends, Mayfair, Royal St. Cloud, Stoneybrook West, Forest Lake, ...

Keep and eye out for a new resort, Cabot Citrus Farms. The people that run Cabot Cape Breton and Cabot Saint Lucia Point Hardy are totally revamping World Woods (which had 2 top 100 courses). REALLY looking forward to the opening.
Cabot Citrus Farms

Tampa is 90 miles away.

It's nice to have options.

Trying out Cabot Citrus farms in March. Very pumped. It will be great to have Streamsong about an hour south of me and that about an hour north.
