I’m excited to hear the news with it being put about 20-25 minutes from my house. I have never been to one so I’m curious, is it weird to take your own clubs? Or is it equivalent to taking your own putter to Putt Putt?

Yea I kinda shy away from bringing the whole bag. You don't need it anyway. In most cases you'll be able to reach the back net with your long irons. Grab a wedge, an 8 iron and a 5 iron. OR just go for a test run, look at the distances and bring your corresponding clubs.

I play a lot of golf so I probably won’t go, but for people who don’t get to play much and for office outings this is a great idea.

What’s next, is the Vatican getting a little wedding chapel?

I honestly don't see how Augusta can support a Top Golf except for Masters week. The town and demographics are pretty shitty the other 51 weeks of the year.

The town, yea. The golf course, no.

Considering where it will be located they have a decent chance of it being successful. It will be put in an area on the river by I-20, where they have a new theater and Cabela’s. It should bring in people not only from neighboring Columbia County, but across the river from Aiken and North Augusta.

Well hopefully you're right. I go there for work a few times a year. Having a Top Golf would be sweet

Don't bring your clubs. The net at the BR Top Golf is 216 yards from the mats. I assume they are all the same so a long iron will allow most people to hit the net. A short iron and a wedge is all that is needed for the other scoring areas. I would bring a glove though or you'll have to buy one.

This. I just went for the first time in Nashville. It was awesome. However, unless you are going to go and bet a significant amount of money with friends...just bring a couple of your favorite clubs. Bring one for distance and one for accuracy. So, the wedge, the 8, and probably one long iron. You can bring your driver, but they will have one there and the back is only 215 yds. It's only worth points in the center so the aim better be spot on. Short of that, all the points seem to be really about hitting the spots on the ground. You can choose what game you play, but for the average crowd, it will be setup so that almost anyone can score some points. Sort of like a granny bowl can still knock down some if not all pins at the alley.

Plenty do it, but you don't want to be one of them (talking about bringing the whole bag)

If you're going there to legit practice or work on the range, you're doing top golf wrong. The whole point is to go as a small group outing, not to work on your game.

Bring a club or two if you want. I've done that plenty. Like 6I and PW or whatever you want to hit, but I wouldn't bring more than that. The clubs they have there are plenty serviceable, plus they restrict the flight of the balls, so don't think you're going to really work on your game there. Just have fun.

I have the same concern. I live pretty close to Augusta and you are right, it may not last. One thing that may help is the golf courses around here tend to be fairly busy so maybe there is a chance but it's probably iffy.

Birthday parties, hail and farewell, bachelor parties, office outings, etc

I guess they ran the numbers and thought they could make a go of it.

I’ve never been to a Top Golf. I would go if invited I think.

Yeah I haven't either but I probably will go there at least once when it opens to check it out.

Top Golf is a lot of fun. It’s a great outing for those that play a lot of golf and those that have played once in their life. Food is solid and reasonably priced. Drinks aren’t charging you and arm and a leg.

You won’t be disappointed when you go. If you go during the morning time slot, it’s actually really cheap. Friends and I have done brunch there some. Lots of fun.
