XBOX One repair question

I'm too old for this, but I've been sucked down the rabbit hole of xbox repair for my grandson. The wireless controllers are not connecting (the little xbox light will just blink endlessly as it keeps trying.) I tried all the obvious steps (battery replacement, resetting of the connections, etc.) before plugging the controllers in hardwire...and they worked perfectly.
This leads me to believe that the little bluetooth transmitter thingy inside the xbox itself is the culprit. Anyone with any experience with this particular problem? TIA

I'd try Xbox live chat. Also have you tried unplugging the console for a minute or so then starting over?

I tried all the obvious stuff. At best buy, they told me it was probably the bluetooth transmitter like it was old hat to them. So I went to microsoft.com to try to get it repaired/returned since it's under warranty. There is no category that fits this one.

Send it into the manufacturer. There should be a number on the side of the box you bought it with. Give them a copy of the X-Box receipe as proof of purchase.
At least that's what I just recently did to my PS4. Should work the same. They'll send you a box you send them the broken system done.

If you have a Microsoft store in your city, they'll just take your old system and give you a new one. How long has he had the console?

I'm not saying he should've gotten a ps4 but I'm also not NOT saying it either

So you are saying he should have gotten a PC, only thing that has a better game selection than XB1.....Tell me again how that PS VR is > than Oculus rift, in price and functionality....

Go to settings and then kinect and accessories. The controllers have to be updated from time to time. Had to do mine the other day. Nothing is wrong with it.
