Not that I don't love me some RBI Baseball, but why doesn't Microsoft develop their own baseball game?

I would guess that it has something to do with licensing and rights from the MLB....that's just my guess

I don't really understand all that. If Sony has exclusive rights to MLB, how does RBI Baseball get made?

According to the makers of the Show, they do not have exclusive rights, anyone who wants to make a baseball game can.

oh wow didn't know that. So did 2k stop making MLB2K cause it was costing money or something? Seems like how they are using NCAA teams in NBA2K MyPlayer story mode they could do something similar with MLB2K which would pretty damn cool.

I remember always enjoying the MLB series on the PSX. On the PS2, it was literally the lowest rated baseball game on the console until the first "The Show" which had some promise.

2K were losing a ton of money because they overpaid for a semi exclusive license (The Show excepted for PS) to get back at EA for getting the exclusive NFL deal

So they quit making it

I'm sure they'd include made up high school teams and you'd be a young stud coming into the minor leagues straight out of high school

But just imagine being able to play as LSU in Alex Box stadium on MLB 2k18.
I'd nut

I enjoyed the 2016 version but if 2017 is anything like 2016 then there wont be much difference. The gameplay isnt that bad but if your looking for anything great then keep looking . No trades or anything like this exist on this game. I still play but not as much and i dont see that much difference between 2016 and 2017 so i probably wont purchase.

Why doesn't the show just make the damn game available for XBone? Seems like they would make a ton of more money

As i said i have the 2016 version of rbi and doesnt look like they changed anything. its pretty fun to play to get a baseball fix. If your looking for all the bells and whistles of "the Show" then you will be really disappointed. The game doesnt have trades or anywhere you can call up prospects etc... It is simply a baseball game. You can play online matches against others which is pretty fun but once the newness wears off it may be difficult to find an online match. I actually got through a half of a season. I used the astros and my top homerun hitter had about 40 homeruns through about game 60 I would recommend if you need a baseball fix. Im not buying it because i have 2016.
