xbox live account hacked

My sons account was stolen. They charged my card 170.00 bucks.So i signed in on my account and it said he was online playing fifa. So i invited the person to a private chat. Well they accepted. It was a little kid from the UK. He laughed and cursed me out. He also said he paid 5 dollars for gamertag and it came with 22000 microsoft points. He said he got it from the gaming tech.com. Just wanted to let y'all know if y'all have your credit card info on live please remove it.

I hate that you have to call them to get it removed. Why can't I just fricking click on my account and erase my debit card number. Stupid.

Cancel the card with the bank and get a new card.much easier. Wouldn't that solve the problem?

Had something very similar happen where I used paypal to do $1 for 1 month promo. Next day I have $125 taken out of my account for 1 year or xbox live and a bunch of points.
The 1 year of xbox live could not be gifted so it was credited to my account. Second, the idiot gifted the points to another account. Hopefully microsoft took care of that person.
Anyway, I filed a complaint with paypal and it was all resolved in 5 business days and my money was given back.

Xbox support said they will credit my money back 7-10days. They also froze the xbox account. Its just pisses me off.

Damn that sucks. Took me like 10 minutes. Called them, canceled my account, removed the CC info, and got pre-paid codes to add my account back. I was just removing the CC though, not having to deal with a hacked one. Hope it works out.

I cannot remove my current CC because it is linked to an active XBL account. And when I try to enter my pay pal account which I don't have a CC account connected to, it won't let me.

Negative. They'll still charge your account and leave you with a balance to be paid. Been there, tried that.

We need to get a sticky on how to remove your CC info from XBL since this is becoming a common issue.
Here's what I did:
-Call XBL support # (1-800-4myxbox)
-Tell them you want to remove your CC from your account
-You will have to basically cancel your current gold subscription
-Once that's done, they can change your option from auto-renew to pre-paid
-After that, they will remove your CC info
-Once that's done, they will email you with activation codes to reactivate your gold subscription with however many months you had left.
I got three 3-month codes and a couple 1-month codes.
Kind of a pain but it's the only option really to remove your CC info. Just hope you're not hold forever. First time I called I hung up after 10 minutes. Next time they answered pretty quick.
ETA: keep in mind I hadn't been hacked. I was just being proactive. I'm sure it's a nightmare if you've already been hacked.

If you cancel your card or let it expire, they will just spam you with messages that your credit card info needs to be updated. frick them!
