WTF happened to my XBone?

Is anyone else's XB1 pretty much useless at this point? Whatever update happened recently stunted my One's performance to nearly unusable. Everything on the UI runs ungodly slow and I can't even get my BluRay app to open at the moment.
Is this a widespread issue or am I just the lucky one? I have a Day One model, if it matters.

I have the day one model and it's slower than anything. It's a bit ridiculous how long it takes to load up a game. May take the deal at game stop where you get $150 towards the new Xbox S. Idk we shall see

I'm extra salty at the moment because I came home to a dead cable modem. Movies are the only entertainment I'll have tonight....

Do you guys have it set on low power mode? The other mode keeps it running and the game will usually always be loaded when you turn it back on

I'll buy someone's Xbox One. I simply want it to use it as a media center so that I can connect my Amazon FireTV to it plus my Digital Tuner to play OTA TV.
Let me know how to reach out to anyone that's willing to sell theirs. I'm local to New Orleans.
ETA: Is this issue only with Xbox One vs. Xbox One S? If so, I'll just spend the extra $$ on the Xbox One S.
