One annoying issue, which is partly my fault, is that I keep accidentally pressing the left thumbstick during a fight. Geralt then pauses to fiddle with his medallion and I get waylayed. It has happened a few times in every battle and has been the cause of many deaths.

So, should I pick this game up or Kingdom of Amalur?

For PC? Witcher 2 is usually on sale every few months.

No, for xbox. I'm looking for a good RPG game.

I'm done with ME3. I don't feel like starting up another game of Skyrim. I need something to fill my time.

Witcher 2 is pretty challenging. Can't just hack and slash everything, gotta use all your tools. I'm enjoying it.

Yeah I couldn't play last night due to other obligations

But I agree, riposte was gonna unlocked asap. frick dodging and parrying, riposte them bitches.

Altho stun then execution is great too.

Kinda want to upgrade igni as well. Also that paralyzing sign is great. helped me own the executioner in the jail with only a slapjack

So many ways to achieve glory

Yeah, I find myself dipping into both swordsmanship and sign upgrades and completely ignoring alchemy upgrades.

I am a fan of min/max and can see improved oils, potions, and bombs having some worth. For instance, slapping some improved arachnid oil (poison) on a sword and kiting bitches around could be useful when dealing with packs.

But I haven't read thru the entire tree yet and don't know exactly what the benefits are. Probably shite like cat potion won't give u a dmg penalty...

There are so many sidequests in flotsam my head is spinning.

I've got a feeling this game is going to be "open world" to the max. I've been force fed linear so long I don't know what to do with myself.

Heh. there is so much to do.

Finally about to venture into the forest. Got my trusty silver sword. been waiting all night for some monster slaying.

With intimidation and persuasion, how can any simple minded merchant resist my requests.

Rolling with Superb Silver Sword and Robust Cutlass. I got fricked up in the nekker cave (playing hard mode). I think I've completed all of the Flotsam sideys

There has to be more than 3 of us here playing.

This board jizzed itself for skyrim and this game is better (imo fwiw)

Anyways, carson, how are you developing your char? I think after I get riposte I'll go into magic signs. Igni, aard, defense, and paralyze are too good. I like my range.

last night got ambushed by a pack of downers and immediately died... Positioning is key. I try to dodge often.

I agree it is more fun than skyrim. I just earned riposte. I'm playing on hard, but im finally getting the hang of it. It's amazing how much you have to change up your strategy for different opponents. Using a combination of different signs, bombs, daggers, and sword strokes and then defending with parry, rolls, and blocks it is very enjoyable.
