Why they refuse to make more of these games is a true mystery of the cosmos.

"Refusal" probably has nothing to do with it. If it were that easy, Half Life 3, Last Guardian, Shenmue, and Beyond Good & Evil 2 would have been out a long time ago.

Disney has control of it now, probably gearing up for all the new trilogy stuff.

I've looked into this many times because I want one too. Apparently developers have wanted to do it and have even pitched it but never got it approved. They then thought the next stage of it would be The Old Republic. That obviously did not pan out as well but they are pretty invested in it so that puts KOTOR 3 even further behind. I think they will do it at some point, but not yet.

The Disney/EA agreement probably helps because they seem to be working on star wars games now but those take a lot of time. The first one to come will be Battlefront and that seems very far off. You have to think that Bioware will be the developer to do it although Obsidian has said they would love to if EA lets them. EA has another Star Wars title in the works that they hired Amy Hennig to work on being developed by visceral. No one knows what that game is yet and with their track record you have to think not KOTOR.

tl;dr I believe it is coming but will take some more time.

I have a gut feeling it's being worked on.

I could see it being in early or pre production. We know a Bioware team just became available. That still means it is far out of course.

Would also be cool to see a remake of the game. With new graphics and all.

I don't even need a new one right now, I just want to play a graphically updated version of the original KOTOR on my PS4.

I would love to play it on my vita. I'm not sure how those right are listed out though since it was an xbox exclusive.

With the licensing out of SW by Disney, we'll see another SW RPG at some point

If they remodeled and remastered the original two in the exact same form, I would jizz my pants.

They were so fricking good. I bought them on steam but my new computer refuses to play them. The 2nd one got hate but it was still an amazing game.

Honestly the first one is in my top 3 ever. I remember getting it and playing it for like 10 hrs straight enjoying the shite out of it.

The Old Republic setting of the original two games has been thoroughly mistreated by the writers of SWTOR.

A new single-player title would have to either ignore the events of the MMO, which will infuriate its players, or be set in the future, perhaps during the time of Darth Bane, which may alienate people who wanted an immediate continuation of the story in non-hamfisted-massively-multiplayer terms.

I'm sure EA will demand a new one at some point, but it can't be easy to figure out where to go from here, as the MMO is still trucking along and introducing new facepalm-worthy narrative elements.

I think a lot of people would be happy with a similar game in a different time period.

I love Star Wars but never played the game. It looked a lot like a SW version of WOW. Am I wrong in that assumption? I just really don't like playing those types of online games.

Are you talking about the old republic or knights of the old republic? They are not the same.
