I am guessing Sony will screw both of these up. They are making too much on the "early access" for H1Z1 and will never make it FTP. Everquest next is dead in the water from what I can tell, they will just stick with Landmark and be done with it, imo.

Yes, this fall, when it hits full release and comes to console. And no, they've done the exact opposite of screw it up, it's probably the #1 prime example of how to actually do Early Access right, granted they have a much larger team and more resources/money than probably any other early access game so it makes sense.

They listen to the community feedback extensively, and provide an update Roadmap for the entire month, in which they release a large update every single friday (already downloaded this weeks this morning).

Hell just in the last couple of updates there's been new weapons, added grenades/stun/molotovs, a new female character, 2 new zones added to the map, a new hardcore game mode, Steam marketplace and Steam friends integration, new interiors for the police car and truck, on top of a ton of bug fixes/optimization, among other things. And that's just for BR, I don't play survival.

They have done a marvelous job with it.

I have no idea about the other games, not my type of game so don't play them.

They are using Landmark to trick the community into building EQ Next assets for them. It is brilliant.

Yeah, I doubt Everquest Next ever gets released, or at least in any way resembling what it initially was planned to be. The lead developer left after SOE was sold, and they ended their contract with Story Bricks, the studio that was working with them on the procedural AI.
